CUMULUS MEDIA has appointed JOHN CRENSHAW OM for its YOUNGSTOWN, OH cluster, which includes Country WQXK, CHR WHOT, Classic Rock WYFM, Alternative WWIZ, Sports-Talk WLLF, Sports-Talk WBBW-A, and News-Talks WPIC-A and WSOM-A. Previously, CRENSHAW was Regional OM for 10 CUMULUS stations in GRAND RAPIDS and NORTHERN MICHIGAN and served as PD of Country WTNR/GRAND RAPIDS. In his new role, CRENSHAW succeeds DOUG JAMES, who gives up his OM title, but remains as PD/mornings at WQXK.
“We’re thrilled to bring JOHN back home and at the helm of station operations in YOUNGSTOWN," said CUMULUS MEDIA SVP GARY PIZZATI. "JOHN has roots in northeast OHIO, which will be instrumental in our next phase of growth with our iconic brands.” CUMULUS MEDIA SVP/Content and Programming MIKE MCVAY added, “The level of experience and programming sophistication that JOHN brings to the MAHONING VALLEY gives us an immediate advantage.”
“As a native son of northeast OHIO, I can’t tell you how excited I am to be coming home to work with some of the best people and biggest brands in our industry," said CRENSHAW. "My thanks to MIKE MCVAY, DOUG HAMAND, GARY PIZZATI, BOB WALKER, and JEFF CARTWRIGHT for making this move possible.”
Back in GRAND RAPIDS, no announcement regarding CRENSHAW's successor, but the position is posted; interested candidates can send materials here.
