BEASLEY-REED, owner of Sports WQAM-A/MIAMI, is suing the operator of crosstown rival Sports WAXY-A (790 THE TICKET) and a former DOLPHINS running back over an alleged violation of a noncompete clause.
The suit alleges that PRIMETIME MEDIA GROUP's AUGUST hiring of TROY STRADFORD, who had been working at WQAM as an AE and DOLPHINS postgame show co-host, violated STRADFORD's six month noncompete. STRADFORD now works for THE TICKET as an AE and weekend host; BEASLEY-REED is seeking $15,000 in damages and an injunction to keep STRADFORD from working for THE TICKET until mid-FEBRUARY.
