Emmis/New York Helps Celebrate Harlem Week 2016

EMMIS/NEW YORK Urban AC WBLS (107.5), Urban Gospel WLIB (1190) and Top 40 Rhythmic WQHT (HOT 97) are the official radio sponsors of HARLEM WEEK 2016.  Now in its 42nd year, HARLEM WEEK is a celebration of the history, culture, arts, entertainment and more that the historic NEW YORK area has to offer. EMMIS/NEW YORK’s stations will be on-site at multiple events during several of the experiences:

A GREAT DAY IN HARLEM (JULY 31st): WBLS and WLIB kick off HARLEM WEEK with the GREATER HARLEM CHAMBER. Beginning at 12p (ET) at GRANT NATIONAL PARK, there will be dance, art, food, and fashion exhibits, plus, tributes to PASTOR DONNIE McCLURKIN and BISHOP HEZEKIAH WALKER, as well as the concert under the stars starring RAY CHEW along with a special performance from O'JAYS' EDDIE LEVERT.

SUMMER IN THE CITY (AUGUST 20th): WBLS and HOT 97 will be at the ST. NICHOLAS STAGE at 136th Street for a tribute to VAUGHN HARPER, fashion show and special appearances from V BOZEMAN, RENEE (ZHANE) NEUFVILLE and ERIC BENET.

HARLEM DAY (AUGUST 21st): EMMIS/NEW YORK will be on-site at the 5TH AVENUE STAGE for tributes to CHARLES RANGEL, PRINCE and WILL TRAXX, with special artist appearances from MADE IN TOKYO and R&B great WILL DOWNING. MATTHEW KNOWLES will also premiere his new girl group.
