NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO VP for News (and former BALTIMORE SUN Publisher and Pulitzer Prize-winning PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER reporter) BILL MARIMOW has resigned and will take the position of NPR's Ombudsman. The network is using SUCHERMAN CONSULTING GROUP to search for MARIMOW's successor as VP.
With MARIMOW's move, the network's news division has named National Desk Editor ELLEN WEISS as Acting VP, BARBARA REHM as Acting Sr. Managing Editor for news coverage, and DAVID SWEENEY as interim National Desk Editor and has created a new Managing Editor position with veteran radio newsman RICHARD HARRIS in the role on an interim basis and AUDREY WYNN serving as Assistant Managing Editor. J.J. SUTHERLAND will serve as Acting Managing Editor for Digital Media on in interim basis as well.
