In other WJQK news, the station announced that it would send 14 “JESUS IS LIFE” mission teams to AFRICA in 2007. WJQK and WORLD MISSION in GRAND RAPIDS have sent 17 “JESUS IS LIFE” teams to CENTRAL and EASTERN AFRICA over the last two years. In 2007, teams will minister in CONGO, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO, UGANDA, GHANA, SUDAN, KENYA and MOZABMIQUE. Each team will include 10 to 12 listeners who will have a building project, minister to AIDS orphans and prostitutes, and distribute hundreds of "Talking Bibles" recorded in the countries’ native languages. Each team will be in AFRICA for 10 days.
Currently, the station has its 10th of 12 teams for the year in TANZANIA. Ten men are doing "pioneer evangelism" on an island in LAKE VICTORIA, and 10 women are testing women and children for the AIDS virus and setting up medical care for those who have it. The 11th team will leave in three weeks.
