MEC NETWORK Top 40/Rhythmic XMOR (BLAZIN 98.9)/SAN DIEGO had a massive response to its "DIDDY HIGH CAMPAIGN" that allowed high-school students to vote for a DIDDY personal appearance via mSNAP's text-messaging campaign.
MEC NETWORK OM/Marketing & Ops. LEE CORNELL stated, "The station generated a total of 173,705 texts in four days. It only emphasizes the power of text platforms in enabling a youth audience to instantly tap in and have access en masse to these type of radio promotions. Through mSNAP, we offer our listeners a true one-on-one communication tool that increases time spent listening, cume and new revenues without the on-air clutter."
mSNAP founder & CEO MARTIN KRISTISETER said, "We’re very excited about the DIDDY campaign, and the participation went far beyond ours and the station's expectations. BLAZIN 98.9 received 173,705 text messages in four days from high-school students texting to get DIDDY to their school. It’s viral and creates a lot of buzz around the station. The DIDDY HIGH campaign proves text messaging as a critical communication channel for the Urban format and why it should be integrated into the daily programming. By partnering with mSNAP, Urban formats can reach listeners anywhere and anytime without the busy signals and hold times."
