ALL ACCESS extends condolences to family, friends, and colleagues of ASCAP Dir./Security and former MISSISSIPPI Highway Patrolman ROY L. "RUSTY" MARTIN, who passed away unexpectedly this past SATURDAY (7/30). He was 62.
MARTIN was a familiar face on MUSIC ROW, having provided security services to ARISTA RECORDS in the 1990s under the direction of TIM DUBOIS. He subsequently held similar roles at RCA LABEL GROUP before segueing to ASCAP. MARTIN and his late wife, BECKY, were the inspiration for JIM COLLINS and CRAIG WISEMAN to pen KENNY CHESNEY's hit single, "The Good Stuff," following BECKY's diagnosis of ovarian cancer, which she fought until her death in 2000. Funeral services for MARTIN are currently pending.
