NORTHEAST GOSPEL BROADCASTING, INC. is selling W249CV/SARANAC LAKE, NY to MONEY MATTERS RADIO, INC. for $50,000. The buyer plans to relocate the translator to rebroadcast Business WBNW-A (MONEY MATTERS RADIO)/CONCORD-BOSTON, MA.
In other filings with the FCC, FIRST VENTURES CAPITAL PARTNERS, INC. is selling K277AP/MORTON, TX to FORT STOCKTON RADIO CO., INC. for $25,000. The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast AC KFST-AFORT STOCKTON, TX.
OZARK BROADCASTING CORPORATION has applied for an extension of its Silent STA for WOZK-A/OZARK, AL due to damage from a lightning strike.
NORTHWOODS CATHOLIC RADIO has requested a Silent STA for KSPP/RHINELANDER, WI while it builds at a new site.
CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS, INC. has filed for a Silent STA for W213BE/SNELLVILLE, GA while a new enclosure is built at the transmitter site.
MARTHA WHITMAN has applied for a Silent STA for KRKE-A/MILAN, NM while she awaits approval of her application for relocation of the station.
And INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTING CORPORATION has closed on the sale of WMTI-A/MOROVIS, PR to WIFREDO G. BLANCO-PI for $150,000.
Also, HARVEST BROADCASTING ASSOC. has withdrawn its applications to sell W257AU/ST. JOHNSBURY, VT and W232AJ/GREENVILLE, NH to ABSOLUTE BROADCASTING for an undisclosed price; the applications had been opposed by EDDY MOORE, who filed a Petition to Deny pointing out that W257AU had not been on the air for at least five years and no license grant or renewal had been issued since the original license was granted in 1990 and no renewal applications had been filed.
In a deal yet to appear in the FCC database, TODD ROBINSON's WVJT, LLC is buying Triple A WVMP (101.5, THE VALLEY'S MUSIC PLACE)/VINTON-ROANOKE, VA from Dr. WILLIAM E. AMOS' COMMUNITY MEDIA GROUP LLC for $600,000 plus an LMA before closing that started on MONDAY (8/1). GEORGE REED of MEDIA SERVICES GROUP represented AMOS in the deal.
In CANADA, the LONDON FREE PRESS reports that BELL MEDIA is turning in the license for Comedy CKSL-A (FUNNY 1410 AM)/LONDON, ON due to the cost of necessary repairs being excessive against the station's revenue. The station is presently still on the air, although the CRTC has approved the license revocation.
