Saga Reports A 6.1% Rise In Net Revenues

SAGA COMMUNICATIONS reports net revenue increased 6.1% to $36.4 million for the quarter ended JUNE 30, 2016. Free cash flow increased 15.6% to $6.5 million. Operating Income increased 12.6% to $8.4 million. Station operating expense increased 4.6% to $25.4 million (station operating expense includes depreciation and amortization attributable to the stations). Same Station net revenue increased 0.8% to $34.2 million and same station operating expense was flat at $24.0 million. Net income for the period was $4.8 million ($0.82 per fully diluted share compared to $0.77 for the same period last year).
Net Revenue increased 9.1% to $69.2 million for the six months ended JUNE 30th, 2016. Free cash flow increased 23.3% to $11.4 million. Station operating expense increased 6.4% to $50.1 million (station operating expense includes depreciation and amortization attributable to the stations). Operating income was $13.7 million. Net income for the six month period was $7.8 million ($1.33 per fully diluted share compared to $1.13 for the same period last year).
Capital expenditures were $1.5 million in the 2nd quarter compared to $1.3 million for the same period last year and $2.6 million for the six month period compared to $2.3 million last year. The Company currently expects to spend approximately $5.0 million to $5.5 million for capital expenditures during 2016.
