Zander To Join WXRX (104-9 The X)/Rockford As PD

MID-WEST FAMILY Rock WXRX (104-9 THE X)/ROCKFORD taps longtime CHICAGO radio vet ZANDER as PD. Morning host JIM STONE, who has been handling programming, will step away to concentrate on his on-air work.

GM MIKE PATTERSON told staffers in a memo, "We saw in the ratings released last week, the STONE AND DOUBLE T morning show on 104-9 THE X has a dedicated following and has shown significant growth over the past couple years. It is a chart topper in all the male demos and pulls in significant numbers in the adult rankers also. In addition to solid growth and performances, STONE and DOUBLE T have a great list of successful endorsement customers. During this time (and for the past decade and a half), JIM STONE has not only done a morning show from 5-9a, he's done all the music, sales opportunities, promotions, imaging, and more. In addition to all those tasks, JIM has been very involved in charity and community efforts. Because of JIM's efforts, 104-9 THE X is in a great position today for sustained growth.
