KXRN-LP (KX 93.5)/Laguna Beach, CA Holds Annual Airwave Takeover

Julian Channels, Delphine Berryhill 'Silver Tongue' Winners

Nonprofit "Generational" Alternative KXRN-LP (KX 93.5)/LAGUNA BEACH, CA held its annual local “takeover” of the airwaves JULY 27th-29th, where listeners hosted their own shows and competed to raise money for the community station. More than 15 guest hosts raised $16,750 by taking on-air pledges while they spun custom playlists and talked on the mic.

“This is the most fun we have raising money at KX 93.5,” Development Dir. MONICA SILVA said. “We are so proud that locals care about our station enough to fundraiser on our behalf, and we ’re so impressed at the quality of shows!”

Guest hosts included Mayor STEVE DICTEROW, LAGUNA SURF & SPORT Owner JASON WATSON, Chef ALESSANDRO PIROZZI and many more. The winners of the “Silver Tongue Award,” given annually to the show that raises the most money, were DELPHINE BERRYHILL (Pres./Owner of BUTTERFLI ME MAKEUP and LASH STUDIO) and her son JULIAN CHANNELS, who raised more than $3,500.
