After announcing its new afternoon show earlier this week, THE CROMWELL GROUP Sports WPRT (ESPN 102.5 THE GAME)/NASHVILLE has found a new slot for former afternoon co-host WILLY DAUNIC, moving him to middays 10a-2p to join DARREN MCFARLAND and DERRICK MASON. "3D" starts MONDAY (8/15). DAUNIC was co-host with GEORGE PLASTER and FLOYD REESE of the long-running former afternoon show "SPORTS NIGHT"; PLASTER is leaving the show after TODAY's edition for a non-radio job and REESE is part of the new afternoon show "JARED AND THE GM" with JARED STILLMAN.
“Sports fans will get their fill of information on the NHL and the NFL throughout their show,” said Market Manager JANA HAMPTON. “With 3D, we can reach our goal of offering the best of both national franchises that make their home in NASHVILLE.”
DAUNIC said, “As a full time broadcaster for the NASHVILLE PREDATORS, I’m fortunate that the partnership between the team and 102.5 THE GAME has allowed me to continue contributing in the sports talk realm in a complimentary role. I’ve worked with our station’s leadership to find the right spot in our lineup that fits for me, the PREDATORS, and THE GAME. I’m extremely thankful to be joining forces with DARREN and DERRICK, who already have developed tremendous chemistry.”
MCFARLAND, like DAUNIC part of the PREDATORS broadcast crew, said, “The last sixteen months have been an absolute joy working with DERRICK MASON and watching the growth of our show has been very rewarding to both of us. Obviously, I have worked with WILLY DAUNIC for most of my broadcast career and his addition to the good things DERRICK and I are doing on our show will be seamless and just makes sense.”
MASON, a former TITANS wide receiver, said, “I have been blessed to be teamed up with DARREN MCFARLAND and enjoy talking with NASHVILLE every single day. This new time slot gives us the opportunity to have even more fun with our audience. I respect WILLY DAUNIC and his work and know that his addition to our show will make it even better.”
