CUMULUS MEDIA's nationally syndicated "AMERICA'S MORNING SHOW" (AMS) will add TY BENTLI as the new co-host beginning TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th. BENTLI will replace BLAIR GARNER, who will segue to host the new overnight show, "THE BLAIR GARNER SHOW." KELLY FORD and CHUCK WICKS remain on at "AMS." Said BENTLI, "My wife and I have spent the last several weeks attempting to explain to our three-year-old how awesome life has just become. We listed the trillion things we love about NASHVILLE, and threw NASH dance parties in our living room."
It is a return to overnights for GARNER, who conceptualized and hosted the long-running nationally syndicated "AFTER MIDNITE" from 1993 until 2013. GARNER was inducted in to the COUNTRY RADIO HALL OF FAME as part of the Class Of 2016 (NET NEWS 6/23). "This opportunity is a godsend for me and my family," said GARNER. "My kids staged what amounted to an intervention. They canddily shared that they were unhappy with how little 'Dad Time' they were getting. It rattled me. MARY [BERNER] and MIKE [MCVAY] were beyond understanding and graciously agreed to swing me back into my home turn of working overnights. I can't think of many companies that would accommodate such a request. But it's a new CUMULUS, and they care about their family members. I'm so incredibly grateful to get to continue with the work that I love, and to show my kids that nothing will ever take priority over them."
GARNER's new overnight show replaces "KICKIN' IT WITH KIX," as KIX BROOKS transitions to focus fully on WESTWOOD ONE syndicated "AMERICAN COUNTRY COUNTDOWN." BROOKS just inked an extension with WESTWOOD ONE in celebration of ten YEARS with the countdown show (NET NEWS 8/11).
