Condolences to family and friends of former longtime WJBO-A/BATON ROUGE host KEVIN MEEKS, who died FRIDAY (8/19) in a motorcycle accident in BATON ROUGE. MEEKS was at WJBO from 1996 until his layoff last year, mostly as morning co-host with MATT KENNEDY.
In a statement on the station's FACEBOOK page, WJBO posted, "Words cannot express the shock and loss we are feeling today at the passing of our friend and former co-host KEVIN MEEKS. KEVIN was an important part of a two decade legacy of KEVIN MEEKS and MATT KENNEDY in the morning on WJBO. Most importantly he was loved by his coworkers, and part of the DNA of our team. He was the master of trivia, a lover of history and BATON ROUGE in general. Your day was blessed in someway when you started it at the coffee pot with him. Most Radio/TV types know each other regardless of company affiliation and many are great friends no matter which station name they wear. KEVIN was that universal friend. We love you KEVIN and will miss you."
