A colorful regular caller to MIKE MISSANELLI's afternoon show on GREATER MEDIA Sports WPEN (97.5 THE FANATIC)/PHILADELPHIA, "DWAYNE from SWEDESBORO," has turned out to be a producer from the station doing a character, a fact allegedly known to some other staffers but not to MISSANELLI himself, according to CROSSING BROAD's KYLE SCOTT.
SCOTT investigated a tip that "DWAYNE," a African-American stereotype whose act included paternity issues and tweets in dialect, was actually producer PAT EGAN doing a character, with the photo avatar on "DWAYNE's TWITTER account being a teammate of EGAN's on a men's hockey team. SCOTT said that after initially denying on TWITTER that he was "DWAYNE," EGAN and co-producer JASON MYRTETUS confessed to having created "DWAYNE" about two years ago to provide MISSANELLI with some irritation, and said the host "had no idea that he was talking to one of his station’s producers."
@StonedPhillyFan just picked the exact opposite of me. A black guy, living in Jersey, who rides a Vespa & gets mad women. I get no women
— Pat Egan (@Pat_Egan) August 22, 2016@StonedPhillyFan I tried to distance myself as far as possible from him so no one would suspect it was me. Never thought it'd last this long
— Pat Egan (@Pat_Egan) August 22, 2016@StonedPhillyFan it's 2016. I expect some people to get that it's a joke & others to be offended. Just the way that it is
— Pat Egan (@Pat_Egan) August 23, 2016@StonedPhillyFan yea. I expected this. Had to come out at some point.
