In the interest of scientific discovery, the advancement of mankind, and finding more excuses to enjoy local craft beer, LOCAL MEDIA SAN DIEGO Alternative XTRA-F (91X)/SAN DIEGO and local breweries will conduct experiments to test what happens if beer is infused with music.
PAUL SEGURA of KARL STRAUSS BREWING COMPANY and GREG PETERS of ST. ARCHER BREWING COMPANY, who are also musicians in the local bands RIFFTIDE and DEAD FEATHER MOON, respectively, will play live music sessions for a beer keg, and test the contents for changes. Results will be shared this SATURDAY, AUGUST 27th at the BEERX BEER AND MUSIC FESTIVAL at Liberty Station, where both bands are also performing live.
91X PD MIKE HALLORAN said, “We already love the quality craft libations in this town, but no one has ever asked what affect brewing music into the beer might have. Will there be overtones of feedback? A hoppy, headbanger finish? Inquiring minds want to know!”
The beer keg will be on display at the KARL STRAUSS BREWING COMPANY TASTING ROOM in Pacific Beach starting TOMORROW (8/24), with a guitar and amp on stand-by for additional sonic steeping.
