WYOMING PUBLIC MEDIA (WPM) has add a new Triple A-based all-music service, WYOMING SOUNDS, as of TODAY (8/24). The service was made possible by a grant from the GUTHRIE FOUNDATION.
WYOMING SOUNDS extends the popular WPM MORNING MUSIC program to a 24/7 platform. The Morning Music will remain on WPM’s statewide network, but listeners who prefer hearing music throughout the day and evening now have another option. The service broadcasts from the Wyoming Public Media studios on 103.5 FM in LARAMIE and serves ALBANY COUNTY. It can also be picked up on 90.5 in RIVERTON and LANDER and 94.1 in WORLAND. WYOMING SOUNDS is available in many WYOMING locations via HD radio. All WYOMING and worldwide listeners can pick also up the service online at Wyomingsounds.org.
WYOMING SOUNDS will emphasize singer-songwriters and a wide variety of styles including acoustic, folk, blues, soul, reggae, and world music. It will add elements of Americana along with Wyoming and regional musicians.
The service is dedicated to helping listeners discover new music with a significant portion of the playlists reserved for up-and-coming artists. It will be hosted by current Morning Music announcers GRADY KIRKPATRICK (who is PD), PAUL MONTOYA and MICAH SCHWEIZER, as well as other hosts joining the roster.
