K-ZAP/Sacramento Joins 'Chalk-It-Up' Festival

Listener-supported Rock K-ZAP/SACRAMENTO, the community, listener-supported station, will be an official media sponsor of 2016's “Chalk-It-Up!” Dates are LABOR DAY WEEKEND, SEPTEMBER 3rd-5th. in FREMOND PARK (16th Street & Q Street).
Visitors to the station booth can meet announcers DENNIS NEWHALL, JOHN NORMAN, ZACHARIAH and the News Director ACE YOUNG. They will be handing out K-ZAP stickers, selling station tee shirts and ball caps and letting everyone know about the station's brand new morning show,
"ACE and GONZER in the Morning," which debuts on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 5th, and will air daily MONDAY-FRIDAY from 6a-9a (PT(. The show reunites one of the top morning teams in rock radio history-- ACE YOUNG and JEFF “THE GONZ” GONZER, his former longtime on-air partner at L,A.’s legendary KMET (THE MIGHTY MET). K-ZAP will be table partnering with another favorite non-profit organization, GIRLS ROCK: SACRAMENTO, which helps girls to build self-esteem/leadership skills through unique programming that combines music education, performance, empowerment and positive role models.
50,000 people came out for last year’s “Chalk It Up!” to look at sidewalk art, enjoy live music, eat, drink and build community in our city's Midtown. There is also interactive art for kids each day. The live music schedule is available here.
