Deal With Sumner Redstone's Granddaughter Clears Way For Judge's Approval Of Viacom-Dauman Settlement

A deal that settled SUMNER REDSTONE's granddaughter KERYN REDSTONE's concerns has led to the approval by a MASSACHUSETTS judge of the settlement of outgoing CEO PHILIPPE DAUMAN and board member GEORGE ABRAMS' suit against VIACOM.

KERYN REDSTONE, who has her own case going against VIACOM and her aunt, VIACOM Vice Chair SHARI REDSTONE, over SHARI's handling of SUMNER REDSTONE's affairs, objected to the settlement unless her attorneys could see the terms and protect her interests.  MASSACHUSETTS Probate Judge GEORGE PHELAN approved the deal TODAY (8/26) after KERYN REDSTONE signed off on the arrangement based on legal assurances that KERYN would receive equal treatment in trust distributions and access to her grandfather.
