Miranda Lambert To Receive 'Merle Haggard Spirit Award' At ACM Honors

RCA NASHVILLE artist MIRANDA LAMBERT has been selected as the recipient for the inaugural ACM MERLE HAGGARD SPIRIT AWARD at the "10TH ANNUAL ACM HONORS." The AWARD honors an uncompromising artist in the spirit of MERLE HAGGARD (NET NEWS 8/22).

"MERLE was an integral part of the ACADEMY’s history, and it was important to us that we honor his legacy," said ACM EVP/Managing Director TIFFANY MOON. "We couldn’t imagine anyone better suited to receive the first ever ACM MERLE HAGGARD SPIRIT AWARD than MIRANDA." The "10TH ANNUAL ACM HONORS" take place TOMORROW (8/30) at the RYMAN AUDITORIUM in NASHVILLE and will be broadcast on FRIDAY, DECEMBER 9th at 9p (ET) on CBS-TV.
