9th Annual RAB, BMI, MIW 'Rising Through The Ranks' Seminar Completed

The RADIO ADVERTISING BUREAU (RAB), BMI, and the MENTORING AND INSPIRING WOMEN IN RADIO GROUP (MIW) have completed their ninth annual Rising Through the Ranks Women in Radio Management & Leadership Training Program.  The program, with 21 scholarship recipients participating, were held at the BMI offices in NASHVILLE on AUGUST 24-25.

Among the speakers were  the RAB's own ERICA FARBER, BRANDEIS C. HALL, and JEFF SCHMIDT; BMI's DAN SPEARS; GREATER MEDIA and MIW's HEIDI RAPHAEL; INTEGRATED MEDIA SOLUTIONS GROUP's LYNN ANDERSON; EMMIS' LINDSAY CERAJEWSKI; HD RADIO's JOE D'ANGELO; MEDIA STAFFING NETWORKS' LAURIE KAHN; ENTERCOM's WEEZIE KRAMER; COX MEDIA GROUP's SUSAN LARKIN; BEASLEY's HEATHER MONAHAN; NEUHOFF MEDIA's BETH NEUHOFF; and OLIN & ASSOCIATES and MIW's KAY OLIN.

“For the past nine years, up-and-coming female executives have completed this seminar in preparation to be on the front lines of our business,” said FARBER. “They have left this two-day seminar with new management skills and a renewed energy to lead and excel within their organizations.”

“Professional development training from some of the most respected industry leaders in radio management is an invaluable experience,” said BMI SVP of Licensing MICHAEL STEINBERG. “BMI is so proud to support all of the 2016 participants and looks forward to seeing them rise through the ranks within the radio industry.”

“Our goal of the Rising Through the Ranks seminar is to use experience, paired with resources, to support women in radio,” said OLIN. “By mentoring these women we give them the necessary tools to lead the business and to inspire others.”
