Price For Midwest-Red Rock Duluth Deal: $5.625 Million

The price by which  MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS, INC. is buying Classic Rock KQDS-F/DULUTH and its simulcast stations WXXZ/GRAND MARAIS, MN and KAOD/BABBITT, MN; AC WEVE/EVELETH and its three translators W288AI/ELY, MN, W252AN/HIBBING, MN, and W221AU/VIRGINIA, MN, and Country KGPZ (Z96)/COLERAINE, MN from RED ROCK RADIO CORP. is $5.625 million. The price was not disclosed by broker KALIL AND CO. at the time of the announcement of the sale.  MIDWEST will sell or shut down Classic Rock KMFG/NASHWAUK, MN to comply with ownership caps.

In other filings with the FCC, ROY E. HENDERSON is transferring more of his licenses to corporate entities, this time moving Country KJAZ/POINT COMFORT, TX; Country KEMA/THREE RIVERS, TX; Country KHTZ/GANADO, TX; Oldies KNVR-A and Country KNUZ/SAN SABA, TX; and Country KULM-F/COLUMBUS, TX to his S CONTENT MARKETING, LLC.

SUN SIGNALS LLC is selling W221CZ/SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT to GALAXY II MEDIA, LLC for $67,500.  The buyer plans to relocate the translator to rebroadcast Sports WTLB-A/UTICA, NY.

THE ASSOCIATION FOR COMMUNITY EDUCATION, INC. is selling K219KX/REDMOND, OR to VALLEY BROADCASTING ASSOCIATES, LLC for $35,000.

MID-WEST MANAGEMENT, INC. has requested an extension of its Silent STA for W227BL/GALENA, IL while it completes construction at its new, relocated site.

MULTICULTURAL RADIO BROADCASTING LICENSEE, LLC has closed on its reacquisition of Ethnic KALI-A/WEST COVINA, CA from TRANSITION RADIO, LLC, the trust set up in 2007 to spin the station off when MULTICULTURAL bought KHIZ-TV/BARSTOW.  MRB sold Korean KYPA-A/LOS ANGELES to WOORI MEDIA GROUP, LLC for $6.2 million, allowing MRB to re-acquire KALI.

EL DORADO BROADCASTING's EDB VV LICENSE LLC has closed on the sale of Rock KXFM/SANTA MARIA, CA to JOHN Q. HEARNE/POINT BROADCASTING COMPANY's POINT TEN LLC for $1.175 million.

PACIFIC LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY has closed on the sale of noncommercial Jazz-News-Talk KNKX (formerly KPLU-F)/TACOMA to FRIENDS OF 88.5 FM for $7 million cash and $1 million in underwriting messages.  The deal included KVIX/PORT ANGELES, WA; KPLI/OLYMPIA, WA; KPLK/SEDRO-WOOLLEY, WA; K204BI/BELLINGHAM, WA; K211AP/CENTRALIA, WA; K212AG/RAYMOND, WA; K221FR/WEST SEATTLE, WA; K265AP/ABERDEEN, WA; K284BM/LONGVIEW, WA; K288GG/MOUNT VERNON, WA; and K244EV/ARIEL, WA.

PROFESSIONAL ANTENNA, TOWER AND TRANSLATOR SERVICE (PATTS) has closed on the sale of K255BL/CRAIG, CO to PILLAR OF FIRE for $12,500. The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast Religion KPOF-A (AM 91, THE POINT OF FAITH)/DENVER.

And PRIORITY RADIO, INC. has closed on the sale of W283BY/TOMS RIVER, NJ to WORLD INDIA RADIO, LLC for $60,000.  The buyer plans to move the translator to NORTH JERSEY to rebroadcast South Asian WXMC-A/PARSIPPANY, NJ.

Also, RED RIVER RADIO, INC.'s license for booster KCEI-FM1/EL PRADO, NM has been cancelled at the licensee's request.  The 390-watt booster served noncommercial Variety KCEI/RED RIVER-TAOS, NM on the north side of TAOS.

And GALAXY COMMUNICATIONS is buying the HOPS AND PROPS CRAFT BEER FEST and TASTE OF FLIGHT WINE EXPO, both on LONG ISLAND, from DBE EVENTS for an undisclosed price.  DBE is owned by ERIC BELL, who will continue with GALAXY EVENTS, which is opening a LONG ISLAND office.

In CANADA, the CRTC approved three new rebroadcasting transmitters for French ICI RADIO-CANADA PREMIÈRE affiliate CHFA/EDMONTON at JASPER, LAKE LOUISE, and BANFF, AB.
