The price by which MIDWEST COMMUNICATIONS, INC. is buying Classic Rock KQDS-F/DULUTH and its simulcast stations WXXZ/GRAND MARAIS, MN and KAOD/BABBITT, MN; AC WEVE/EVELETH and its three translators W288AI/ELY, MN, W252AN/HIBBING, MN, and W221AU/VIRGINIA, MN, and Country KGPZ (Z96)/COLERAINE, MN from RED ROCK RADIO CORP. is $5.625 million. The price was not disclosed by broker KALIL AND CO. at the time of the announcement of the sale. MIDWEST will sell or shut down Classic Rock KMFG/NASHWAUK, MN to comply with ownership caps.

Also, RED RIVER RADIO, INC.'s license for booster KCEI-FM1/EL PRADO, NM has been cancelled at the licensee's request. The 390-watt booster served noncommercial Variety KCEI/RED RIVER-TAOS, NM on the north side of TAOS.
And GALAXY COMMUNICATIONS is buying the HOPS AND PROPS CRAFT BEER FEST and TASTE OF FLIGHT WINE EXPO, both on LONG ISLAND, from DBE EVENTS for an undisclosed price. DBE is owned by ERIC BELL, who will continue with GALAXY EVENTS, which is opening a LONG ISLAND office.
In CANADA, the CRTC approved three new rebroadcasting transmitters for French ICI RADIO-CANADA PREMIÈRE affiliate CHFA/EDMONTON at JASPER, LAKE LOUISE, and BANFF, AB.
