We have an update on SILENT MAJORITY GROUP's JEFF HANSON and his battle with cancer (NET NEWS, 6/17). HANSON, who has managed CREED, PARAMORE, SAVING ABEL and others and currently manages DEATH VALLEY DREAMS from SCRANTON, offers the latest news:
"I am still recovering from two major surgeries, one to remove my tonsil and a 5x5x4 CM tumor from my throat and another to take a triangular slab of flesh from my neck that contained 19 lymph nodes, three of them cancerous. I am making an effort to get back to work right now as my radiation treatments ended this past FRIDAY. I am still dealing with chemo and will continue to for four more weeks. My biggest concern is not surviving the current situation or my current nonsensical situation whereas my insurance company has dropped me leaving me to have to pay $2,000 per month for a new plan and $4,000 just to get started, but this little 'bean' growing on the other side of my neck which one doctor claims is "certainly nothing" and my other doctor claims is "microscopic cancer at the least." So I'll continue to look at the glass as 'half-full' and assume that everything is great and going according to plan although "assume" clearly has an 'ass' in it.
