SCRIPPS/WICHITA has added TODD JOHNSON as Local Sales Manager (LSM) effective MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12th. JOHNSON will lead local sales efforts for the five-station cluster, which includes Country KFDI, Classic Country KFTI-A, Classic Rock KFXJ, Rock KICT, and Hispanic KYQQ. He succeeds JASON WILSON in the role (NET NEWS 6/1/10), who departed more than two years ago for an opportunity in television.
JOHNSON brings a background in media sales experience to the position having previously worked in sales management at KWCH/KSCW/KDCU-TV as well as STECKLINE COMMUNICATIONS/WICHITA radio. Additionally, JOHNSON worked at THE WICHITA EAGLE and JOURNAL BROADCAST GROUP/WICHITA.
"TODD's extensive experience in sales management and media sales make him an excellent fit to help lead our WICHITA sales team," said SCRIPPS/WICHITA GSM SCOTT CHIASSON. "His expertise and community involvement will be valuable to both our advertisers and business partners." JOHNSON stated, "I know this market, and I know how important the SCRIPPS stations are to our audiences, both consumers and advertisers. The people are extremely talented and care so much about this community. I look forward to working with the best in the market."
