Nielsen Cell Phone Sample To Increase To 54% For Fall 2016 Survey

In a "client communications" that NIELSEN shared YESTERDAY (9/8), the company noted some "significant investments in the quality of our audio services." The most apparent will be a sizable increase in cell phone sample, rising to 54% of the total sample with the FALL 2016 survey, an increase of 50% over the cell phone sample from the FALL 2015 survey (which was 36%).
Additional items addressed in the memo obtained by ALL ACCESS included:
- New analytic capabilities that fine-tune the sampling rate adjustments for different strata
- Increased premiums for lower responding demographics and in lower response markets
- Investments in the hiring and training of call center staff to improve call quality and ensure that this element of the survey process is as effective as possible
- More investment in its Audio Diary Service
