NAB To Address Opioid Epidemic With Press Conference

The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS is teaming up with the PARTNERSHIP FOR DRUG-FREE KIDS for a press conference at the CAPITOL VISITORS CENTER in WASHINGTON, DC, tomorrow (SEPTEMBER 13th) from 11a-12 NOON (ET) to announce a nationwide campaign to address the opioid epidemic that is ravaging communities across the country.
Radio and television stations plan to leverage their reach to combat abuse, encourage treatment and increase awareness of this national crisis.
Participants include NAB President/CEO GORDON SMITH and PARTNERSHIP FOR DRUG-FREE KIDS MARCIA LEE TAYLOR.
Among the broadcasters expected to attend are ARIZONA BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION President ART BROOKS; SINCLAIR BROADCAST GROUP SVP Strategy And Policy REBECCA HANSON; HUBBARD RADEIO GROUP Chair/CEO GINNY MORRIS and HEARST TELEVISION President JORDAN WERTLIEB.
Confirmed members of CONGRESS who will attend include MICHIGAN congressman JOHN CONYERS, VIRGINIA congressman BOB GOODLATTE, IOWA congressman CHUCK GRASSLEY, MINNEOSTA congresswoman AMY KLOBUCHAR, VERMONT Senator PATRICK LEAHY, ARIZONA Senator JOHN McCAIN, CONNECTICUT Senator CHRIS MURPHY and NEW JERSEY Senator FRANK PALLONE,
