PODCASTONE has unveiled its virtual reality initiative with the new PODCASTONE 360 platform, created in conjunction with NEIL MANDT's MANDT VR. The platform will offer over 200 original 360-video experiences using a proprietary camera system. ADAM CAROLLA's show will be the first to deploy the technology.
“Now that this deal is a reality, this is the largest volume content play to date in the history of virtual reality,” said MANDT. “It’s a watershed moment because this will be the first consistent, scheduled content production in VR that the consumer can count on every week. PODCASTONE’s high volume podcast success combined with our high volume television production experience is the perfect combination for this to take off.”
PODCASTONE Founder and Executive Chairman NORM PATTIZ said, “Virtual reality is the future of entertainment, and MANDT VR’s leading technology delivers quality video, and in large quantities. This is key when you churn out about 350 podcast episodes weekly. This provides the next dimension in consuming our on-demand audio programming. It’s especially germane to an audience that wants to consume PODCASTONE’s content on an ever-more connected basis. This is exactly the kind of partnership and cutting-edge direction that floats our collective boats.”
