PREMIERE NETWORKS and THEBLAZE host GLENN BECK and his THEBLAZE and MERCURY RADIO ARTS companies have settled the defamation case brought against them by a SAUDI student who BECK initially accused of having financially backed the BOSTON MARATHON bombings. The amount of the settlement was not disclosed, and BECK did not admit fault or wrongdoing; the settlement also allows BECK and his producer JOE WEASEL to avoid disclosing their sources for their allegations.
POLITICO reports that BECK and his operations reached an out-of-court settlement with ABDULRAHMAN ALHARBI in the case in U.S. District Court in MASSACHUSETTS. ALHARBI was injured in the attack but after some Internet sites claimed he was part of the plot, ALHARBI was cleared of involvement and sued BECK for persisting in the claims even after then-Department of Homeland Security Secretary JANET NAPOLITANO publicly cleared ALHARBI.
