CLEAR CHANNEL, suing to stop enforcement of a noncompete? That's the situation in TEXAS, where the company's Talk KKTX-A/CORPUS CHRISTI is going to court with crosstown Talk KEYS-A to free talker JIM LAGO from his noncompete.
The CORPUS CHRISTI CALLER-TIMES reports that LAGO, who left KEYS last month to join KKTX, had a contract that had expired in 1998; LAGO and CLEAR CHANNEL sued KEYS on OCTOBER 4, and KEYS has countersued, claiming LAGO took a client list and other station information with him. District Judge ROSE VELA has been assigned the case, with no hearings yet on the schedule.
