ADAMS RADIO GROUP Country WKHI/SALISBURY-OCEAN CITY, MD has named radio vet LARRY (BIG RED) WNOROWSKI PD/afternoons effective MONDAY, OCTOBER 3rd. He succeeds ALBIE DEE in the PD chair, following DEE’s decision to focus solely on Top 40 clustermate WOCQ, where he also handles afternoons (NET NEWS 8/19). In afternoons, BIG RED takes over for BRIAN K. HALL, who remains with the station handling production duties.
The move to WKHI reunites BIG RED with ADAMS; he most recently programmed Country sister KGRT/LAS CRUCES, NM before stepping aside for an opportunity outside the market (NET NEWS 7/11). “There are times when an amazing employee leaves for all the right reasons,” said ADAMS CEO RON STONE. “And sometimes they come home. We could not be happier than to have BIG RED back home. RED did an incredible job for us in LAS CRUCES, sets the standard for ‘team player,’ and I have no doubt we will see a repeat of his success in MARYLAND.”
BIG RED’s 19-year career includes stops in ALBUQUERQUE, NM; LAWTON, OK; WICHITA FALLS, TX; DALLAS and LAFAYETTE, IN. “I am excited to come to SALISBURY-OCEAN CITY and make it home,” commented BIG RED. “WKHI has an amazing signal over DELMARVA and the station already sounds terrific centered on NASH FM. I look forward to contributing in afternoons and working with a great local staff.”
