SB NATION RADIO is adding two new shows and one new analyst to its roster of football talk, including a resurfacing of former SAN DIEGO CHARGERS top draft pick RYAN LEAF.
The network is adding former NFL wide receiver KEENAN MCCARDELL as NFL Analyst, joining the network for a segment on "PRIME CUT WITH SEAN SALISBURY AND STEVE BUNIN" every WEDNESDAY at 5p (ET). In addition, LEAF, whose flame-out with the CHARGERS and subsequent troubles made headlines before his current recovery from addiction, will host a weekly show on SATURDAYS 8-10p (ET), talking about life on and off the field and recovery topics. And former ESPN and SEC NETWORK sideline reporter KAYCE SMITH will host her own two-hour college football show on MONDAY nights 8-10p (ET).
“KEENAN is as impressive in the broadcast booth as he was on the playing field,” said CEO DAVID GOW. “He’s an exceptional talent who can breakdown the nuances and subtleties of the game without alienating any of the audience. Whether you played football or are just a casual observer, you’ll love his insights.”
“I am so honored and grateful for the opportunity that Mr. GOW and SB NATION has afforded me,” said LEAF. “With TRANSCEND RECOVERY COMMUNITY as the title sponsor, our goal is to introduce real life problems and solutions into the discussion. I look forward to continuing the great tradition that SB NATION has built.”
“One thing that is missing from the sports industry is the opportunity for women to take strong stances onair and give their opinions without hesitation,” said SMITH. “I’m so excited to be a part of the SB NATION RADIO family and to be able to share this crazy journey with our loyal listeners across the country.”
“I’ve never been more excited about the state of our radio network,” said PD/COO CRAIG LARSON. “From top to bottom, there is no doubt in my mind that we have the strongest lineup of personalities in sports radio. The additions of KEENAN, KAYCE, and RYAN reinforces the idea that SB NATION RADIO is truly the next generation of sports talk.”
