The NHL's COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS have inked three-year extensions with radio flagship RADIOHIO/DISPATCH Sports WBNS-F (SPORTS RADIO 97.1 THE FAN)/COLUMBUS and secondary station WWCD LTD. Alternative WWCD (CD102.5). The stations have been with the BLUE JACKETS since the team's inaugural season in 2000-01; THE FAN will remain the team's flagship, CD102.5 will continue to air games bumped from THE FAN due to schedule conflicts, and Sports WBNS-A (ESPN 1460) will air preseason games.
The team's VP of Digital Marketing and Media MARC GREGORY said, "SPORTS RADIO 97.1 THE FAN is the number one source for sports on the radio in Central OHIO and we are excited and proud that the longstanding relationship between the station and our team will continue. 97.1 and CD102.5 are great partners and share our commitment to growing the game and we look forward to continuing those efforts for many years to come."
"The Blue Jackets have been part of THE FAN's programming since day one and we're excited to be able to continue this relationship and to be the voice of the BLUE JACKETS for COLUMBUS," said WBNS-RADIO President/GM DAVE VAN STONE.
"Alternative music and hockey are a natural fit and we are happy to continue our relationship with the BLUE JACKETS," said CD102.5 Owner and GM RANDY MALLOY. "We are proud to be a radio partner with such a great organization and asset for the city of COLUMBUS."
