Longtime STEPHENS MEDIA GROUP Talk station WMSA (1340 AM)/MASSENA, NY, radio host SANFORD T. “SANDY” COOK has died at the age of 61.
The former WMSA morning man was a community fixture for more than four decades as host of the morning show, "The Extravagance," and in NOVEMBER, 2001, was elected to a four-year term as MASSENA town supervisor.
COOK was taken off the air last FEBRUARY following a raid on his home by police that led to his arrest and the arrest of another man on charges of cocaine and heroin possession. COOK and EDWARD J. SLADE were each charged with a count of misdemeanor seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance following the raid (NET NEWS 2/15).
