Former WFPL/Louisville Host James Bickers Dies At 45

Former LOUISVILLE PUBLIC MEDIA News-Talk WFPL and Triple A WFPK/LOUISVILLE personality JAMES BICKERS died THURSDAY (9/29) at 45, the station has announced. 

BICKERS, most recently local host and Producer for NPR's "MORNING EDITION," was with WFPL and WFPK for almost 20 years, eight of which were spent as WFPK morning host and two as afternoon jazz host.  Among the shows he hosted and produced were "ON SECOND THOUGHT" and the "DOWN AND NERDY" podcast.  He also served as a website editor for NETWORLD MEDIA GROUP's RETAIL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE in 2005-15 and wrote book reviews as a freelancer for PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY.
