Cliff Winston Segues To Afternoons At KKBT/Los Angeles

As first tipped here (NET NEWS 10/16), RADIO ONE Urban AC KKBT (100.3 THE BEAT)/LOS ANGELES PD KEVIN FLEMING has chosen CLIFF WINSTON to be the station's new afternoon driver. WINSTON is scheduled to begin his new duties MONDAY (10/23).

For the past 10 years WINSTON had been doing wakeup duty at TAXI PRODUCTIONS’ crosstown Urban AC KJLH. For seven of those 10 years, he was also PD.

Commenting on the move, FLEMING put it this way: “With great pleasure we welcome CLIFF WINSTON to 100.3 and the RADIO ONE family in L.A. I’ve been both a fan and a competitor of his for more than 20 years, and I’m thrilled we’re now on the same team."

KKBT VP/GM STEVE CANDULLO said, “CLIFF is an outstanding radio personality and represents a major piece of our strategy as we continue to build an Urban/AC station that is custom designed for Southern California.” 

WINSTON expressed his feelings htis way: “I’m excited to be a part of the RADIO ONE family, especially on the air at one of the premier Urban stations in the country. Now get ready as we change the entire landscape of L.A. Radio, 100.3 is destined to make broadcast history.”
