GOOGLE has just had its own APPLE-like showcase, dubbed the #MADEBYGOOGLE launch event. CEO SUNDAR PICHAI took the stage and noting a shift from a mobile-first to AI-first focus, highlighted GOOGLE Assistant, software that will universally available, natural and in context with daily life, SEEKING ALPHA reported. He then presented GOOGLE's own phone, the PIXEL.
Integrated with GOOGLE Assistant, PIXEL boasts the highest-ever rated smartphone camera, with the ability to generate seven hours of battery life after 15 minutes of charging, free and unlimited photos/video storage, 24/7 customer care and "Daydream-ready" functionality. Pre-orders begin today in the U.S., U.K., AUSTRALIA, CANADA and GERMANY with 5 and 5.5-inch models available starting at a $649. VERIZON will be the exclusive U.S. carrier for now.
