BRISTOL BROADCASTING Country WXBQ/BRISTOL, VA morning host MARK ANDREWS has left the station to join partners CHUCK MARSH and DON WENDELKEN to become VP/Head of Programming of their company, ICON BROADCASTING INC./CDM BROADCASTING INC. The trio purchased WQDK/AHOSKIE, NC and the two-station cluster, WOLD and WZVA/MARION, VA. "After 27 years of doing radio, and working for the past 11 years to be an owner, it has finally happened!" ANDREWS said.
That leaves a vacancy in mornings back at WXBQ, where co-host STEVE STROUD will remain, handling the show solo while a search for his successor is conducted. Send materials to BRISTOL BROADCASTING's BILL HAGY here.
