The first UNITY MINI-BIG SHOW, a benefit to mark NOBEL PEACE Laureate ARCHBISHOP DESMOND TUTU's 85th birthday and to raise funds for his LEGACY PROJECT, the DESMOND TUTU PEACE FOUNDATION, will take place at the SABAN THEATER in BEVERLY HILLS tonight.
INCUBUS, DONOVAN, STEVE VAI, FISHBONE, PATO BANTON, SPENCER DAVIS and members of THE MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES, along with LILY HAYDEN and poet STEPHEN KALINICH, will perform.
The evening will be hosted by DESMOND TUTU's grandson XABISO TUTU-GXASHO, with presenters including QUINCY JONES and ADAM GAYNOR.
The LOS ANGELES show kicks off the MINI-BIG BENEFIT concert series for UNITY: THE DESMOND TUTU LEGACY PROJECT, a global effort spearheaded by the ARCHBISHOP and his daughter MPHO TUTU to ensure his work for peace, justice and equality continues for generations to come. Each MINI-BIG SHOW is an intimate performance of notable artists taking place in a theatre as opposed to a stadium, designed to reach the largest audience possible worldwide via live stream in partnership with FACEBOOK, with audio simulcasts on terrestrial radio in each market.Additional MINI-BIG SHOWS will be held throughout 2016-7 including NEW YORK in DECEMBER, MIAMI in MARCH 2017, ATLANTA in APRIL 2017 and TORONTO SPRING 2017, with more cities to be announced.
