CHET-5 BROADCASTING Triple A WDST (RADIO WOODSTOCK 100.1)/WOODSTOCK, NY will present its 18th annual PINK OCTOBER fundraiser the weekend of OCTOBER 21st-23rd, benefiting breast cancer care and research throughout the HUDSON VALLEY via the RADIO WOODSTOCK CARES FOUNDATION.  

RADIO WOODSTOCK will build on the success of its annual PINK OCTOBER benefits, which have raised over $450,000 for breast cancer care research and awareness locally since 1998.

This year funds will be raised with a weekend-long REQUEST-A-THON, an online auction, and a benefit concert.

The sold-out benefit concert will spotlight MICHAEL FRANTI, one of RADIO WOODSTOCK’s favorite artists and perennial MOUNTAIN JAM favorite. FRANTI will take the stage with his long-time guitarist JAY BOWMAN to perform an acoustic set at the CHANCE THEATER in POUGHKEEPSIE, NY, TOMORROW (OCTOBER 8th). Local musician SIMI STONE will open with an acoustic set. 

Station GM RICHARD FUSCO commented: “RADIO WOODSTOCK is committed to the local community. Our PINK OCTOBER fund-raiser is our way of helping cancer victims and their families in the HUDSON VALLEY deal with this terrible disease.”

For the annual REQUEST-A-THON, RADIO WOODSTOCK 100.1’s programming will be turned over to listeners from FRIDAY, OCTOBER 21st, through SUNDAY, OCTOBER 23rd. The station will accept song requests in exchange for donations of $25 or more. Donations of $50 or more will also be rewarded with a limited edition PINK OCTOBER 2016 T-shirt and a limited edition stainless steel cup.

This year’s recipients of the funds raised are THE DYSON CENTER FOR CANCER CURE, THE BENEDICTINE FOUNDATION, HEALTH ALLIANCE FOUNDATION and MIDHUDSON REGIONAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION.
