LAURIE ANDERSON was on hand for the ANNIE O MUSIC SERIES at the STANDARD EAST VILLAGE in downtown MANHATTAN to celebrate the release of "LOU REED -- The RCA & ARISTA Album Collection," released OCTOBER 7th through SONY's LEGACY RECORDINGS.
The set brings together for the first time in one comprehensive anthology the definitive box set library of music recorded by the iconic NEW YORK rock musician from 1972 to 1986, one of the richest and most protean periods of LOU REED's career.
ANERSON, a noted avant-garde musician/composer/performance artist as well as REED's wife and partner for 21 years introduced the program for the evening which included performances of LOU's songs from JON SPENCER and NONA HENDRYX, readings of his lyrics by HAL WILLNER, who co-produced the box set and "Orange Is The New Black" star NATASHA LYONNE. Legendary photographer MICK ROCK also introduced a video with a final interview with the ROCK AND ROLL HALLOF FAMER, who died on OCTOBER 27th, 2013 in SOUTHAMPTON, LI.
