New Orleans Radio Legend Bobby Reno Passes

FLEUR DE LIS BROADCASTING Oldies/Adult Hits WTIX/GALLIANO, LA radio personality BOBBY RENO, who began his NEW ORLEANS-area broadcasting career at the station in 1965,on the weekend of HURRICANE BETSY, passed away this morning after a seven-decade long stint on the CRESCENT CITY airwaves.

RENO quickly became one of the top air personalities in the area. In the late '60, he moved to FM and helped launch the rock format on WRNO. After working at stations in MEMPHIS and ST. LOUIS, BOBBY returned to NEW ORLEANS as the PD and drive-time personality at WNOE-FM. He returned to WRNO in the '80s, followed by a stint on WCKW. When WTIX launched n 1995, BOBBY returned home to once again join the KREWE of TIX.
