CMT has added SHALEEN DESAI in the newly-created role VP/Scripted Programming. The appointment comes on the heels of CMT's move into scripted programming with this YEAR's premiere of "Still The King" and the forthcoming CMT-TV debut of "NASHVILLE" in JANUARY. DESAI will oversee continued growth of scripted programming for CMT and will be based in LOS ANGELES where he will work with the creative community to generate ideas for new programming concepts and characters and develop and oversee all aspects of scripted production.
SHALEEN joins CMT from JASON BATEMAN's AGGREGATE FILMS where he served as EVP/Television. Previous stops include time as FISHBOWL WORLDWIDE MEDIA SVP, BBC WORLDWIDE VP/Programming, and DAVID LETTERMAN's WORLDWIDE PANTS. "SHALEEN is equal parts creative and strategist, bringing diverse pedigree to the brand," said CMT EVP/Development and Programming JAYSON DINSMORE. "He's a welcome addition to our growing development team and will play a critical role in positioning CMT as a home for premium scripted programming." Congratulate DESAI here.
