The COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM (CMHOF) hosted its induction ceremony for the CMHOF Class Of 2016 last night (10/16). RANDY TRAVIS, CHARLIE DANIELS and FRED FOSTER were recognized and official inducted at the medallion ceremony (NET NEWS 3/29). Among those on-hand to honor the inductees were DOLLY PARTON, BRANDY CLARK, KRIS KRISTOFFERSON, TRISHA YEARWOOD, JAMEY JOHNSON, TRACE ADKINS, ALAN JACKSON, BRAD PAISLEY, and GARTH BROOKS.
PARTON, CLARK, and KRISTOFFERSON each performed in tribute of FOSTER; YEARWOOD, JOHNSON, and ADKINS celebrated the work of DANIELS; and JACKSON, PAISLEY, and BROOKS each tipped a hat to TRAVIS. VINCE GILL handled the official induction honors for FOSTER, BRENDA LEE did the honors for DANIELS, and BROOKS made it official for TRAVIS. A complete wrap-up of the evening's festivities can be found here.
The most buzzed-about moment of the evening came as TRAVIS, three years post-stroke, sang "Amazing Grace" at the podium. TRAVIS has been unable to speak, but for this special occasion wanted to share his feelings of gratitude. It was an emotional highlight, and video of the moment has already gone viral across social media platforms. Congratulations to FOSTER, DANIELS, and TRAVIS -- the official COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME Class Of 2016.
