Colombian Star Carlos Vives Signs Deal With Kobalt Music Publishing and Neighbouring Rights

COLOMBIAN singer/composer CARLOS VIVES  has signed a global deal with both KOBALT MUSIC PUBLISHING and KOBALT NEIGHBOURING RIGHTS. The partnership will encompass all of KOBALT’s publishing services, including collections, registration, synch, reporting, creative services and YOUTUBE maximization and its neighbouring rights services, including global performance tracking, pre-distribution analysis, efficiency and timeliness of payments.

VIVES is a driving force in the LATIN AMERICAN music world whose 1993 release “Clásicos de La Provincia," certified platinum.  In 1996, Carlos released “La tierra del olvido”, selling millions of copies with critics hailing it as the most important COLOMBIAN album in the last 50 years. In 2012, Carlos began a new era of music in his career with the single “Volví a nacer”, which topped the LATIN BILLBOARD charts its first week. CARLOS received a SPIRIT OF HOPE award at BILLBOARD’s 2014 LATIN MUSIC AWARDS for his philanthropic work and dedication to noble causes. During the course of his career, VIVES has won two GRAMMYs and 9 LATIN GRAMMYs. In May of this year, Carlos released the single “La bicicleta”, a duo with fellow COLOMBIAN SHAKIRA, which debuted at #1 on BILLBOARD's USA LATIN AIRPLAY chart. “La Bicicleta” is nominated in this year’s LATIN GRAMMYs for “Record Of The Year” and “Song Of The Year”. His new album, which includes “La Bicicleta,” is set to debut in 2017.
