National Association Of Black Journalists Awards 2016 Scholarships

The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACK JOURNALISTS (NABJ) has announced its 2016 scholarship recipients. The NABJ has awarded $27,500 in scholarships this year as part of the Student Education Enrichment and Development Program (SEED); since 2009, the NABJ has awarded $470,196 in scholarships.
"NABJ is committed to helping our student members reach their full potential by providing financial assistance. Our scholarship program continues to be a strong initiative to help defray ever-rising educational costs," said NABJ President SARAH GLOVER. "We are proud of this year's scholarship recipients and we will continue to nurture the next generation of media professionals."
The recipients include

- CAROLE SIMPSON Scholarship: NATALIE HENDERSON, CENTRAL MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY
- LARRY WHITESIDE Scholarship: MALIKA ANDREWS, UNIVERSITY OF PORTLAND
- STUART SCOTT Scholarship: BAMIDELE IDOWU, SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY
- DEWAYNE WICKHAM High School Scholarship: ANTONIO SCOTT, UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS
- VISUAL TASK FORCE Scholarships: MAHLIA POSEY, UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA BERKELEY; JESSE SPARKS, NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY; POLLY IRUNGU, UNIVERSITY OF OREGON
- NABJ Scholarship: ALONI HILL, REGENT UNIVERSITY
- ALLISON E. FISHER Scholarship: BRANDI MONTGOMERY, HOWARD UNIVERSITY
