WYNG, LLC has applied for an extension of its Silent STA for W256AZ/MOUNT CARMEL, IL pending construction of new facilities.
SHEILA CALLAHAN & FRIENDS, INC. has closed on the swap of K281CH/MISSOULA, MT to EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. for K292GH/MISSOULA, and EDGEWATER has closed on the resale of K292GH to EVERSOLE MEDIA GROUP LLC.
COVENANT NETWORK has closed on the sale of W227CR/CHARLESTON, IL (now W272DR/DREXEL, OH) to JOHNSON BROADCAST PROPERTIES, INC. for $38,500. The buyer is moving the translator to rebroadcast Urban AC WDAO-A/DAYTON, OH.
EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of K279CB and K238BK/GRAND JUNCTION, CO and K257FH/DURANGO, CO to MBC GRAND BROADCASTING, INC. for $16,650 each. And EDGEWATER has also closed on the swap of W267BK/MOUNT PLEASANT, SC to WAY MEDIA, INC. for W220DS/MONTGOMERY, AL.
RADIO TRAINING NETWORK, INC. has closed on the sale of K235CE/HARRISON, AR to KHOZ, LLC for $25,000. The buyer plans to use the translator to rebroadcast Adult Standards KHOZ-A/HARRISON, AR.
And SOUTHWEST COLORADO TV TRANSLATOR ASSOCIATION has closed on the sale of K292AX/CORTEZ, CO to KUTE, INC. for $7,500.
In a deal yet to appear in the FCC database, SPECTRUM RADIO FAIRMONT, LLC is selling Classic Rock WRLF (94 ROCK), News-Talk WTCS-A, and News-Talk WMMN-A//FAIRMONT, WV and Hot AC WZST (VARIETY 101)/WESTOVER, WV to LAUREL HIGHLAND TOTAL COMMUNICATIONS, INC.'s LHTC MEDIA INC. for an undisclosed price. KALIL & CO., INC. served as the exclusive broker for the transaction.
The Commission also issued a proposed $15,000 fine against MICHAEL DUDLEY for allegedly operating an unlicensed station on 103.9 FM in GUNTERSVILLE, AL, and then, after an FCC warning, on 107.9 FM in the same area; in the latter case, the FCC alleges DUDLEY refused to turn the station off, saying that "people in his area wanted him on the air" and that because no filing window for a licensed FM station was open, his "hands were tied."
In CANADA, the CRTC issued mandatory orders against several tourist information station operators in SURREY, BC caught operating the stations as commercial South Asian radio stations rather than exempt TIS facilities, pursuant to complaints by SOUTH ASIAN BROADCASTING INC., licensee of South Asian CKYE/VANCOUVER. 89.3 SURREY CITY FM LTD. and GRUPAL GARCHA were ordered not to operate or have any involvement with any non-licensed broadcast entity (like TIS operations); for VF2689/SURREY, SURREY MYFM INC. and RAVINDER SINGH PANNU were ordered to comply with the exemption and file reports on the programming airing on the station, with audio or other exact copies of all broadcasts kept for four weeks; and PANNU and SUR SAGAR RADIO INC. were similarly sanctioned for commercial operation of VF2688/SURREY.
