MTV President Sean Atkins To Exit, VH1/Logo President Chris McCarthy To Add MTV Duties

SEAN ATKINS is exiting as President of MTV and VH1 and LOGO President CHRIS MCCARTHY will take on additional duties as President of MTV.
ATKINS informed his staff TODAY (10/24) that he is stepping down from the post he has held for one year; MCCARTHY's ascension to head of MTV as well as his present networks was announced later in the morning. MCCARTHY worked at MTV as GM of mtvU and MTV2 and EVP of MTV before shifting to serve as GM of LOGO in 2014 and VH1 in 2015. He was promoted to President of LOGO and VH1 in JUNE of this year. ATKINS joined MTV in 2015 from a EVP/GM post at DISCOVERY NETWORKS and previously served as SVPDigital Media at HBO and Head of Development & Programming at YAHOO!.
