Last THURSDAY’s (10/20) CMT of “Artists Of The Year” telecast proved to be a ratings winner for the network, which says ratings ballooned 21% among 18-49s compared to last year, while attracting nearly two million viewers. Five additional airings of the annual show honoring Country’s top artists brought the total viewers toward four million. The 2016 edition was the highest-ever rated “Artists Of The Year” among men 18-49, says CMT. Socially, the special ranked as the #2 show of the night and #7 for the week among NIELSEN’s Social Content Ratings.
CMT honored LUKE BRYAN, FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE, THOMAS RHETT, CHRIS STAPLETON, and CARRIE UNDERWOOD as the top Country artists of 2016. Additionally, KELSEA BALLERINI was selected as the second-annual "Breakout Artist Of The Year" honoree; SHANIA TWAIN was recognized with an "Artist of A Lifetime" award.
