HAWAI'I PUBLIC RADIO will TODAY (10/26) complete its move of KANO/HILO, HI, the east BIG ISLAND affiliate of its HPR-1 News-Talk and Classical network, from 91.1 FM to 89.1 FM and the launch of News-Talk-Variety HPR-2 on KAHU/HILO, which it acquired in 2013 and is being moved to 91.3 FM at the same site as KANO. The switch is scheduled to take place at Noon (HT).
President/GM JOSÉ A. FAJARDO said, “This is a historic moment made possible by the community of supporters who have kept the faith and supported the station throughout its statewide expansion. Credit must also go to my predecessor, the visionary MICHAEL TITTERTON, the networkĘ»s master builder. We look forward to introducing the wonderfully diverse programming of HPR-2 to our current and new listeners on the HILO-side of HAWAIĘ»I.”
