Hitmaking songwriter JULIA MICHAELS formally steps into the spotlight as an artist, signing a deal with REPUBLIC RECORDS. She’s in the process of recording her debut EP for the label due out in early 2017.
Commented REPUBLIC GROUP Pres. CHARLIE WALK: “From the first day I met JULIA, it was clear that she was not just a writer, but a very unique artist. Her trademark vocals, writing prowess, and musical vision puts her in a category all her own. We're thrilled to be a part of her upcoming journey and to share her art with the world."
Over the past two years, JULIA has solidified herself as one of pop music’s most in-demand songwriters, co-writing a string of BILLBOARD Hot 100 hits alongside JUSTIN TRANTER —including JUSTIN BIEBER’s “Sorry,” SELENA GOMEZ’s “Good for You” 9feat. A$AP ROCKY) and HAILEE STEINFELD’s “Love Myself,” among others. To date, the songs she has co-written exceed over eight billion streams, with the consumption equivalent to over 50 million songs sold worldwide.
Most recently, she performed “Carry Me” with KYGO at the 2016 CLOSING CEREMONIES of the OLYMPIC GAMES in BRAZIL.
JULIA spent her childhood in SANTA CLARITA, an L.A. suburb known for MAGIC MOUNTAIN, where she opted to be home-schooled in order to spend every free minute writing poetry and lyrics. MICHAELS then met TRANTER in 2013 and began their songwriting partnership. She is currently working on recording her debut EP.
